Senior Business Analyst

Senior Business Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Business Analyst to join our Professional Services team. This is a key customer-facing role that spans the full engagement lifecycle — from solution qualification and pre-sales support through to solution delivery, user acceptance, and benefits realization. The Senior Business Analyst will serve as the primary bridge between our customers’ business objectives and our technical delivery teams, ensuring that proposed solutions are firmly grounded in validated business requirements and deliver measurable value.

Operating across sectors including energy, telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, and government, the role holder will engage directly with customer stakeholders at all levels — from operational teams to C-suite executives — to understand strategic goals, analyze current-state business processes, identify transformation opportunities, and translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements that guide solution design and delivery.

During solution qualification, the Senior Business Analyst will lead discovery workshops, conduct feasibility assessments, and develop business cases that articulate the value proposition of proposed solutions. During delivery, they will own the requirements baseline, manage scope through structured change control, facilitate customer acceptance testing, and support organizational change management to ensure successful adoption. The role requires a unique combination of analytical rigor, consulting acumen, and the ability to build trusted advisory relationships with customers across diverse industries and cultural contexts

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and requirements workshops during solution qualification phases, employing structured elicitation techniques to uncover strategic business goals, pain points, and transformation opportunities.
  • Conduct comprehensive current-state business process analysis for customer organizations, documenting as-is processes using industry-standard methodologies (BPMN, value stream mapping) and identifying inefficiencies, risks, and automation opportunities.
  • Develop detailed future-state process designs and solution concepts that articulate how proposed technology solutions will address customer challenges, improve operational efficiency, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Prepare and present compelling business cases, feasibility assessments, and solution qualification reports to customer decision-makers, clearly articulating the value proposition, expected benefits, implementation approach, and risk considerations.
  • Support pre-sales activities by contributing business analysis expertise to proposals, RFP responses, and customer presentations, ensuring that proposed solutions are grounded in validated requirements and realistic delivery assumptions.
  • Own the end-to-end requirements lifecycle throughout solution delivery — from initial elicitation and analysis through specification, validation, and traceability — ensuring requirements are complete, consistent, testable, and aligned with customer expectations.
  • Produce comprehensive requirements documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices that clearly communicate business needs to technical delivery teams.
  • Collaborate closely with solution architects, project managers, and development teams to ensure that business requirements are correctly interpreted and implemented, participating actively in design reviews, sprint planning, and delivery ceremonies.
  • Manage requirements scope through structured change control processes, assessing the impact of change requests on project scope, timeline, budget, and quality, and advising stakeholders on trade-offs and prioritization.
  • Coordinate and support customer user acceptance testing (UAT) activities, developing test strategies, defining acceptance criteria, facilitating test execution, and managing defect resolution to ensure delivered solutions meet agreed requirements.
  • Build and sustain trusted advisory relationships with customer stakeholders at all levels, serving as the primary point of contact for business requirements and acting as the customer’s advocate within the delivery team.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between customer business units, technical teams, and third-party vendors, ensuring alignment of objectives and effective communication throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Support organizational change management activities by assessing change readiness, identifying adoption risks, developing training materials, and coaching customer teams to ensure successful transition and adoption of delivered solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization’s business analysis practices, methodologies, templates, and tools, sharing lessons learned and best practices across the Professional Services team.
  • Mentor and guide junior business analysts, providing coaching on analysis techniques, stakeholder management, and professional development to build team capability.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and business analysis best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance the quality and competitiveness of customer engagements.
  • Actively explore and adopt AI-powered tools and technologies to automate routine analysis tasks, assist with complex problem-solving, and augment decision-making capabilities within the scope of customer engagements.
  • Deploy AI-powered process mining and process intelligence tools during customer discovery phases to rapidly analyze event logs, discover as-is process flows, identify bottlenecks, and quantify improvement potential with data-driven evidence that strengthens solution qualification.
  • Leverage AI-assisted requirements management tools for intelligent documentation, automated traceability, natural language processing of customer RFP materials, and AI-driven impact analysis to improve the speed and quality of requirements engineering.
  • Apply AI-driven data analytics and visualization tools to support evidence-based business case development, solution qualification, and benefits realization tracking throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Identify and articulate opportunities for AI/ML-driven automation within customer business processes, bridging the gap between business stakeholders who understand the problem domain and technical teams who will design and implement AI-enabled solutions.
  • Ensure that AI-enabled solutions proposed to customers meet ethical standards, data privacy regulations, and responsible AI principles — including conducting bias assessments, defining explainability requirements, and ensuring compliance with regional data protection frameworks.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging AI platforms, generative AI capabilities, and intelligent automation tools to enrich solution proposals, enhance analytical capabilities, and maintain competitive differentiation in customer engagements.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging AI technologies and their potential applications to enhance productivity and effectiveness in day-to-day business analysis activities, sharing knowledge and best practices with the wider Professional Services team

Candidate Attributes

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex business problems into manageable components and evaluate multiple solution options based on business value, technical feasibility, and customer constraints.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven experience delivering customer-facing workshops, executive presentations, and cross-functional facilitation in diverse cultural contexts.
  • Strong consulting mindset with the ability to build trusted advisory relationships, understand customer strategic objectives, and translate business needs into actionable recommendations that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Deep business acumen with the ability to understand various industry domains and rapidly adapt to new customer business contexts, connecting technology decisions to business outcomes.
  • Technical aptitude including understanding of enterprise technology landscapes, software development lifecycle, system integration principles, and emerging technologies including AI/ML, with the ability to bridge business and technical perspectives
  • Attention to detail and quality focus, ensuring that all deliverables — from requirements specifications to business cases — meet the highest standards of accuracy, completeness, and professional presentation.
  • Adaptability and resilience for working in dynamic customer environments with evolving priorities and requirements, comfortable with ambiguity and able to maintain effectiveness under pressure.
  • Continuous learning mindset with commitment to staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies (particularly AI/ML), and business analysis best practices through ongoing professional development.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in business analysis roles, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity within a customer-facing professional services, consulting, or systems integration environment.
  • Proven track record of leading business analysis activities across the full engagement lifecycle — from solution qualification and pre-sales support through to delivery, user acceptance testing, and benefits realization.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting business process analysis, requirements engineering, and solution qualification for large-scale, enterprise-level technology projects across multiple industry sectors (e.g., energy, telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, government).
  • Strong experience with structured requirements elicitation techniques including stakeholder interviews, facilitated workshops, document analysis, prototyping, and contextual enquiry, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes in customer organizations.
